We got introduced to Eddie and the crew by way of his mother-in-law. She is a regular listener and knows our musical preferences quite well. She put us in touch with Eddie, the Sugarshack King, and before you could say "I-75 South," Drew was headed to Bonita Springs to watch & clap a clipboard for an intimate performance by The Supervillains! The passion that these guys have for music, their keen eyes and ears when it comes to spotlighting new and under-the-radar talent, and their strong commitment to promoting these acts are all unparalleled. Eddie reached out to us when he scheduled an encore performance by these 2 dudes known as Little Stranger, knowing that we would vibe with them. Both of us traveled down there with our significant others, got our minds right, and then had them blown by this incredible duo from Philly (but now based out of South Carolina). Check out the Sugarshack Music Channel for some spectacular musical performances and top-notch production, all done with love and care.

Drew has known these dudes since way back in the Orlando days and loves them. Their unique and crowd-pleasing blend of swamp punk, funk, reggae, ska, and rock makes their live shows a real party. The chemistry and ball-busting between Dom (singer/drummer) and Skart (singer/guitarist) is at the nucleus of this incredibly-gifted group of musicians. They frequently swing through the Bay Area, so check them out at Jannus the next time they play and see if they don't immediately convert you into a fan.

We made an instant connection with these dudes. John and Kevin (both have the last name Shields but are allegedly not related) manage to pull off incredible live shows with just the two of them. John simultaneously plays guitar, captures samples of said guitar, plays the samples, sings, raps, and provides drum beats. Kevin, one of the more skilled rhymesayers you'll ever witness, also plays the clavichord. The back-and-forth between these two and their intense chemistry are just two reasons to fall in love with Little Stranger. Since we saw them at Sugarshack, they've blown through Florida on several tours and it warms our hearts to see an increasingly large amount of passionate fans singing along with their songs.

Who doesn't love a little A.S.S.? We met these cats from South Florida many years ago and struck up an immediate kinship. Powered by the pounding percussion from Adam, the keyboard wizardry of Chris C., the precision plucking of the bass from Fabian, the guitar wizardry of Chris M. and fronted by one of the most seductively charismatic singers in Logan, this band really has "it." Hell, John traveled all the way to Colorado just to see them at Red Rocks! Watching Logan prowl the stage as she burns a hole right through you with eye contact while the boys jam along with passionate precision...seeing them live is an experience. We forgive them for abducting us on a fateful night in Ruskin when they threw us in their van, put on a few of their unreleased songs, and blindfolded us as Logan drugged us with her lavender.

Quite simply, Tampa Bay's best dining experience. The Proper House gang owns this joint as well as Dang Dude in Sparkman's Wharf and Nebraska Mini Mart (a burger shack that has some of the best burgers, shakes, and fries you'll ever eat). Ferrell Alvarez is a culinary magician, combining ingredients and crafting recipes that will leave your jaw on the floor and your belly singing with joy. Located in Seminole Heights, Rooster & the Till is the ultimate special occasion restaurant. If you see Ty there, please tell him that Drew said hello. Oh, and do not leave their without ordering the cobia cheeks and/or "secret pork."

Located on Dale Mabry near 275 (look for the giant spaceship next door), my buddies Don and Jimmy hooked up with another friend named Andres who used to be with Hops (remember those yummy biscuit/croissants?) and created something magical. Awesome food, cool decor, and super-friendly bar staff. Bonus: after several adult beverages, 2001 is right next door for your viewing pleasure! Riveters is family-friendly, but you may want to have an answer prepared for when your kid asks, "can we go see that spaceship?"

Our good buddy, Uncle Warren, runs the show and has created an environment in which couples feel incredibly comfortable hanging out. He has assembled a staff of not just visually-appealing but genuinely congenial young ladies. The atmosphere is festive, the bar and cocktail staff kicks much ass, and this is a phenomenal place to begin or end your evening. Ask for Uncle Warren and tell him we sent you. He'll tell you how much he loves Drew and John.

More than just a client on our radio show, these guys are true partners. They've helped us with so many charity events, the best being Down To Bowl where we raised over 30 thousand bucks for the Down Syndrome Association of Tampa Bay. Plus, it's a really fun place to get out of this dreadful heat and into some air conditioning. Fun for bowlers of all skill levels, Pin Chasers is a clean and spirited place to roll some balls. 3 locations in Tampa Bay.
